Busted Remake (Video)

Remaking Busted

We were set the task of remaking the Busted - What I Go To School For video. There were many things I learnt from doing this process primarily during the pre-production stage I had to come up with a story board of shots this helped me to organise which shots went where and the different stages of production in detail. This process showed me that you have to be very organised and have good time management skills. This process have given me a deep knowledge of how the media products are made in the real world.
The production was the major part of this task and this allowed me to look into detail on how the shots are put together, and how much time and effort it takes to take each shot successfully, this has certainly widened my knowledge.
Finally Post-Production made me think about how successful the shots can be put together and widened my knowledge of the software used (Adobe Premier Pro). IT took many attempts to get the song to match the video (lip synch) therefore the process took longer than expected, however we successfully managed to produce the re-make of this video to a high standard.

Final Video

A2 Media Studies: Lip-Synch Exercise

The task was to create a music video, the purpose was to create this in order to test lip synch. We had to perform one song from the choice of five. The performance had to be suitable for the choice of song and the whole group had to be involved in creating the music video in one way or another. We chose as a group Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart as we all felt that it was a more feminine ballad.

From this task we learnt how to create a successful music video and edit the lip synch perfectly no matter how long it took. We used Adobe Premier Pro to edit our video and this gave us a more established knowledge on the creation of a music video.

Evaluation Q4 + Q5

I overall think that I was very successful with my music magazine compared to my preliminary magazine as I believe I have attracted my target audience well in a more efficient and idyllic way. I created a facebook page for my media focus group in which I added a few people who I thought were ideal for my target audience. I added pictures of my work and updated this regularly so that my audience focus group were able to comment on the pieces and help me know what worked and what didn't so that I could improve it for the final piece. I asked them questions which I think would help get answers to what I needed to know. My audience focus group was ideal as they told me how the colours worked and how the font styles used may relate to the target audience I have chosen. This helped the success of the magazine.

I have also included a video of which a media student has spoke about her opinion of my magazine. I asked her many questions and I wanted her overall opinion on whether my magazine was successful or not. Some of the questions I asked were whether my magazine looked real whether the fonts, colours, pictures and contents were appropriate for my target audience.

Production Update

I have changed some fonts on my cover of the magazine and have added more text (cover stories) which all the colours used link together and match. However I have changed some of the stories more than once and still am not sure on what I think of them.

Production Update

I have already made some changes to the front cover. The font I used for the word 'Download' didn't seem to go down well with my peers and therefore I have changed this to the font in which the magazines name is in.
'New Music Fast' has been changed and is now going diagonally downwards to add a different sort of affect.
I also have added a picture to my background. My cover star is ideal for this magazine as she is a rock chic who loves the genre of music.

Production

So far in production I have started to do my front cover and put together different ideas. I have not yet got all my photos taken and therefore need to focus myself on completing this task.

The next stage in my production will be to add my photo/s (when all complete) to my front cover and then start editing this in order for it to be a worthy magazine.

Locations

There will be many locations used to take pictures for my magazine. My idea for some of the shots are to be taken with landscapes behind them or at least with key features from these landscapes. The three main places I wish to take my photos are on Fort Royal Park, Worcester High Street and in a photography studio against a white or black background.

Audience Research 2

My audience were interested by the drafts and made some comments towards them. They did not think that the draft cover was as good as expected as it didn't have much to really draw you in to. However the use of a unique logo and the magazine name was a great hit with my audience focus group as they thought that 'pitch' summed up the style of the magazine and created a sort of atmosphere.
Charl thought that there needed to be more specific rock features aimed at females in order to make it look more successful.
Lotte had the idea of changing some of the topics and making it more unique and adding a female touch but making sure that there are a lot of rock topics.
Ceire liked the drafts however told me the sorts of colours she thought would be much better to use to really make the magazine more interesting.
